Morelia Familiar Shopping

North Americans, among others, will be pleased to find a great deal of familiar comercial names in Morelia, including:
Ace Hardware, Sears, McDonalds, Burger King, Home Depot, Kentucky Fried Chicken and a long list of automobile dealers with service facilities including Chevrolet, Ford, Range Rover, BMW, and Mercedes.

In addition to the business listed above is home to at least three major supermarkets including Comercial Mexicana, Sams Club, Wal-Mart, Costco, Aurrera, and Gigante. Some of these markets pride themselves on having many north American products (as well as imports from other countries) and very competitive prices.

Trico, is a specialty store and bakery that offers many hard to find gourmet items.
A sampling may include a variety of imported meats cheeses, wines from around the world, Irish smoked salmon, nori, wasabe ginger for sushi making, Swiss chocolates, and many other delicacies from far away places. Trico also boasts and excellent bakery offering a variety of fresh breads and pastries.

While it is easy to buy everything you need in these markets Morelia also offers at least two large public marketplaces. A cultural experience as well, the Mercado's offer a variety of fresh and imported products (Michoacán is Mexico's most agriculturally productive state). Hand crafted Mexican cheeses, fresh meats and seafood, fresh daily flowers and a staggering variety of household goods, clothing and artisan crafts.
